Mr. Piou was born in New York in mid-1990s. When he was five years old, he left New York with his mother and his two siblings to join his father, Dr. Jean Eugene Piou, who held a scientific research position at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Lincoln Laboratory. Mr. Piou has a great sense of duty regarding the needs of others. Following the earthquake that killed 300,000 people on 12 January, 2010, he performed in multiple piano concerts/fundraisers at Longy School of Music, to benefit Haiti. He is currently pursuing studies in a field where his contribution will help reduce human suffering and eradicate diseases, understanding that the hope of Haiti lies in the academic formation, political education, civil service involvement and well-being of its youth.
