ABOUT REUNION SPORTIVE D'HAITI

About Us

Reunion Sportive d’Haiti, Inc., is a charitable non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Maryland, dedicated to the well-being of children. Reunion Sportive was created in 2010 after the Haiti earthquake by a group of Haitians in the United States and Haiti.

On January 12, 2010, Haiti was struck by a catastrophic earthquake that killed over 250,000 people; destroyed hundreds of thousands of homes, government buildings, and businesses; rendered over one million people homeless; and crippled the nation’s economy, health, and education systems. On that fateful day, the world watched with horrors the shattered walls, crushed limbs, and countless children who were left homeless and whose hopes were melting away. Haiti’s strength as a nation was tested more than ever before by the ruthlessness of nature. Despite their afflicted hearts, the world also saw the undaunted courage of the Haitian people, comforting and consoling each other, collectively experiencing nature’s ruthless power.

This tragedy breathed through the nation of Haiti a spirit of collaboration and togetherness and strengthened our resolve of Haitians to collectively address the challenges facing this poor country and its vulnerable children. Together, we can help reconstruct this nation and build a new future for our brothers and sisters in Haiti. Therefore, we establish this non-profit organization on the principles of transparency, accountability, collaboration, and responsibility to alleviate the sufferings of vulnerable children in Haiti.
